Buyer/Planner #540

A leading developer of innovative, non-invasive vital signs monitoring technologies and products that deliver accurate, reliable patient data seeks for a Buyer/Planner for its Connecticut location. The Buyer/Planner Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, MRO supplies, and advertising for organization.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

- Reviews requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability,

   and delivery schedule and determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid while working

   within the required specifications.

- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests

- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority

- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or

   performance and inventories.

- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users,

   vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action

- Expedites delivery of goods to users

- Determines material to be purchased through structured planning and strategy to meet production plans or

stocking requirements.

- Works with customer service to advise ship dates on items not in stock

- Knowledge of Great Plains or any ERP system a plus.  Knowledge of medical manufacturing a plus

 

Education and Skills Required:

 

- Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent work experience.

- 3-5 years exp. as a Buyer and/or a Planner in a manufacturing environment

- Good communication and negotiating skills.

- Excellent organizational skills.
