With over 30 years of experience, Bound Tree Medical is the leading distributor of emergency medical equipment and related supplies to Emergency Medical Service Units, Fire and Police Departments, and other pre-hospital services throughout the United States. We have approximately 230 employees and are located in Ohio, New Hampshire, California, Arizona, Mississippi, Wisconsin and South Carolina.
Our office in Dublin, Ohio has an immediate opening in the Procurement Department for an experienced Buyer. As a member of this team, your responsibilities will include coordinating and executing procurement activities to enhance Bound Tree Medical’s high standard of service levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory in the supply chain. The Buyer is responsible for managing the purchasing function from an assigned group of suppliers, including review of forecasts, proactive demand management, daily ordering, transmission to and follow up with the suppliers, and working with the Vendor Relations Department to resolve supply issues. This individual must strive to establish and uphold mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, as well as internal and external customers, while continually expanding their knowledge of product, industry and systems.
As a successful team member of the Procurement Department, you will:
· Execute daily activities to support procurement processes. Contact suppliers to obtain product or service information, validate pricing and ship dates. Maintain up-to-date delivery dates in systems visible to Customer Service and Sales team. Follow-up on late deliveries and backordered items.
· Optimize procurement system by analyzing trends and proactively managing customer demand.
· Provide ongoing review of parameter management to include lead times, order policy, stocking locations, safety stock and item classifications to meet or exceed objectives for purchased items and services with regard to quality, on-time delivery, and service levels.
· Research and approve payment when there are discrepancies between BTM purchase order and supplier invoice, and maintain necessary records.
· Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, supplier confirmation, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
· Strive to meet or exceed specific performance metrics including fill rate, inventory turns, aging purchase orders, outstanding back orders, and excess inventory levels.
·Support the Vendor Relations, Marketing, Customer Service and Sales Departments with product information such as item discontinuation and replacement, long term back order items, and discounts to accounting.
· Conduct self in a professional and ethical manner that is consistent with Bound Tree Medical's policies and procedures.
· Strive for 100% internal and external customer satisfaction by obtaining and maintaining a clear understanding of the customer's needs and providing products and services that totally satisfy customer requirements.
· Participate in special projects as needed.
Education:
A High School diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred or comparable experience with emphasis in business administration, economics, and/or procurement or supply chain management.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
· 3+ years procurement and demand management experience.
· Strong knowledge of procurement practices.
· Knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel and Word - Access is a plus.
· Experience utilizing procurement and inventory tracking system.
