Job Description Accounting Assistant Accounting AssistantPosition Summary:An opportunity exists for an ambitious professional to support the Thermo Fisher Scientific US Financial Shared Services.  Thermo Fisher Scientific is a technology leader, providing the market with a wide offering of process instrumentation devices and services.  This position offers the right candidate a significant opportunity for career development and growth. This position will support the Director of Shared Services and be responsible for Cash Application. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:• Provide administrative support to the Director of Shared Services • Prepare Power Point presentations and work with all Microsoft products • Assist in the oversight of any facility issues • Manages office supply ordering, replenishment • Coordinates all arrangements for leadership meetings such as room reservations, catering and room set-up • Handles highly confidential information and uses discretion in protecting all company information • Handle dispute & deduction management • Process Credit Card Transactions utilizing a Virtual Point of Sale System • Cash application • Maintenance of policies & procedures – including SOX compliance • Assist in Special Projects Minimum Education & Experience:• 1-2  years of  cash application, accounts receivable or related experience preferred • 3-5 years of administrative experience preferred • Must be proficient in Microsoft Power Point, Excel and WordKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:• Ability to stay confident and maintain high performance during times of change; able to adapt quickly to new demands and challenges. • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills required. • Ability to work independently of direct supervision. • Ability to deliver results with speed and excellence. • Strong attention to detail and follow-up  • Maintains excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong Data Entry Skills • Experience Utilizing EC Zone or Bank of America VPOS and SAP a plus   Education: High School/GEDJob Level: Experienced
