AV Technician

Chicago, IL - The AV technician is responsible for supporting the Engineering and Design team in performing customer installations and post-installation support. The AV technician also assists in wiring, assembly, and testing of internally manufactured AV systems. EOE M/F/D/V * Perform AV installations as directed by the Product Engineering Supervisor and Manager of AV Integration

* Work with boom manufacturers and audiovisual providers to coordinate installations

* Work with customer and customer's facility support during installation process

* Provide second level support to Technical Assistance Center, Field Service Engineers, and customers

* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair EndoALPHA system, ALPHA OR products, and MP audiovisual products and subcomponents in-house, over-the-phone, and on-site as required

* Prepare and disseminate technical bulletins

* Provide installation and support at MP and SP trade shows

* Perform other related duties as assigned (ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

* An Associate's Degree or related knowledge in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is required

* A minimum of two years of field service or field support experience is required

* A solid working knowledge of electronics and audiovisual equipment is preferred

* Must be able to work within an operating room environment

* Must be able to interact with field personnel, management, and customers

* Must possess a high degree of self-reliance, initiative, and creativity

* Must have strong written and verbal communications skills

* Must have a high degree of personal organization

* Must be able to travel (> 40%)

* Must work well under pressure
