Production Control

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Oversees the development of detailed build strategies in accordance with contract specifications and drawings.

·  Oversees the identification, sequencing, and linking of construction activities in accordance with developed build strategies.

·  Oversees the development of detailed work packages including budget allocation, progressing and lessons learned.

·  Oversees development of resource-loaded integrated master program schedules (utilizing Primavera P3ec) that are level-loaded and integrate all aspects of programs from engineering, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and production to testing, final acceptance, and delivery.

·  Oversees the progressing of work packages and schedules on a weekly basis, analyzes performance, conducts critical path analysis and leads efforts to address deviations to baseline, as required.

·  Oversees the development of progress reports for all programs that detail actual and projected cost and schedule performance, resource requirements and earned value.

·  Assesses progress against established plans and budgets and provides corrective action plans to address deviations from baseline.

·  Oversees the development and maintenance of an integrated master facility schedule, including capacity analysis and capacity plans in support of existing projects and bids and proposals to ensure sufficient capacity for proposed work.

·  Oversees the development and monitoring of manning requirements to meet required workload.

·  Maintains a high level of communication within and between various company departments

·  Resolves problems and assesses progress against established plans and budgets

·  Oversees work with production and engineering to provide producibility input into design.

·  Supports the implementation of Lean Manufacturing.

·  Oversees the tracking of throughput metrics to support future bids and continuous improvement efforts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

·  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/ combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.

·  Shipbuilding experience mandatory

·  Extensive experience with cost and resource loaded Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduled on large scale production products (shipbuilding preferred) utilizing Primavera scheduling software (Primavera 3.1 or P3ec).

·  Proficient in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and performance measurement techniques

·  Proficient in Master Production Schedule (MPS) and MRP systems

·  Process-oriented, customer service-driven, problem solver, self-starter, team player, who is energized in a changing, fast-paced environment

·  Effective communication skills to facilitate team work with various departments and effect customer satisfaction with internal and external customers.

·  Computer literate utilizing all Microsoft Office applications and P3ec.

·  Experience with Government contracts a plus.

·  Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus.
