Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics is currently seeking a talented Operations Supervisor Team Leader for our Baltimore, MD location.

 

As an Operations Supervisor Team Leader for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, you will have responsibility to lead daily vessel operations activities and improve quality and efficiency of the vessel loading process together with the Stevedore and Terminal.

Duties:

§ Contribute to and maintain improvement initiatives with Stevedore and Terminal to ensure continued improvement on performance and quality

§ Improve day to day operations, cargo care and damage prevention for all services in Baltimore

§ Oversee vessel operations through proper allocation of resources and direct supervision

§ Maintain effective communication with all vessels and divisions of WWL areas regionally and globally

§ Coordinate and update Ops Team contributors cross training requirements and follow-up as needed 

§ Drive, maintain and enhance key performance indicators in Operations

§ Provide ro/ro experience to assist in the development of Vessel Operations Supervisors and Central Planners through dialogue, mentoring, and performance management

§ Develop relationships with customers in regards to cargo quality and damage prevention in BAL

§ Approve and expedite operations invoices and authorized expenditures within agreed financial limits and timeframes

Competence Requirements:

§ Three (3) or more years experience working for a ro/ro carrier is preferable

§ Industry knowledge in vessel, terminal, stevedore, liner cargo operations, labor contracts and cost analysis

§ High organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

§ Ability to lead and motivate others through effective empowerment, knowledge sharing, mentoring, proactive approach and leadership skills

§ Ability to present and implement new initiatives in a professional manner

§ Strong communication skills

§ High level of professionalism

§ High ability to negotiate with labor and vendors

§ Good computer skills

§ Analytical skills

§ Decision making abilities
