ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - MARINE - DIRECT HIRE
THIS ELECTRICAL ENGINEER WILL:
• Applies knowledge of fundamental concepts and uses established procedures to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment designs.
• Performs engineering design, technical evaluations, and development work assigned projects. Use CAD and database systems and facilities to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment designs.
• Applies comprehensive product knowledge, practical experience, originality & ingenuity to establish design requirements, conceptualize, plan and execute designs for difficult assignments and projects.
• May contribute to the development of design guidelines.
• Responsible for working with drafting to prepare one line and Block Diagrams.
• Responsible for working with drafting to prepare Instrument termination drawings.
• Assists with the work of and performs engineering checks on the work of drafters and designers.
• Assists with the work of and performs engineering checks on the work of out-sourced engineering documents.
• Write technical specifications and technical bid evaluations.
• Detail instrumentation engineering, P&ID review and mark-up.
• Create Instrument datasheets for purchase specification by learning & using existing data sheets created in MS Excel software from previous projects.
• Attend instrument system interface meetings and take detailed notes.
• Assist in transfer of the information to procurement.
• Technical Coordination, Multi-Discipline Liaison, Detail Engineering.
• Consults with other departments, suppliers, and certifying authorities on equipment designs, problems or questions.
Required Experience and Skills:
• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equal related work experience.
• Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a team environment, plus a motivated self starter.
• Must have the ability to work in a multi-ethnic team environment.
• Must be ready to undertake unique challenges and take ownership of projects assigned.
• Has developed a network of professional colleagues.
• Skills include: electrical design skills, product knowledge, enabling technology, computer skills and time management skills.
• Must have organizational skills and software skills in the use of AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
• Knowledge of industry codes, standards & regulations such as IEC, NEC, ISA, ANSI, API, IMO, OCMIF, MODU, & NACE.
• Typically five to ten years experience in similar environment (Marine or Offshore construction experience preferred)
