Workers' Compensation Manager

Our goal is to create customized and integrated programs of labor services, technology and material management that make measurable improvements in our customers' quality, production uptime and total cost.
We are seeking a Workers' Compensation Manager to direct and coordinate activities of Premier's workers' compensation program. This position is responsible for determining the needs of the organization in terms of return to work programs and other programs to reduce Experience Modification Factor. This position will be involved with managing the ongoing relationship with a third party administrator.
Responsibilities include:Takes a pro active approach to develop post-injury management programs.Applies case management skills designated to mitigate losses and equitably resolve litigation.Forecasts future liability as mandated by self insurance plans.Works with operations/field to aid in claims management process and return to work program. Provides authorization and directs activities of third party administrator, broker, outside investigators and legal counsel.Performs daily date entry updates, maintenance of diary system and monitors. computer reports for accuracy.Directs and participates in claim reviews.Communicates and interacts with injured workers, attorneys, physicians, vendors and facility management.Responds to various administrative inquiries. Assists the corporate Safety Manager in ensuring that the needs of the organization for safety and workers' compensation are met and maintained.Takes a pro active position on safety rather than reactive. Identifies process improvement opportunities and development and/or enhancement of processes and systems that incorporate risk assessment and management into routine work flows.Analyzes safety data findings and observations to identify common issues and facilitates consistency in recommendations and corrective actions.Investigates and analyzes safety incidents to ensure that mistakes are corrected and teams learn from experience. Recommends appropriate actions based upon the facts of the case.30% travel required.
Qualifications:BS degree Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field.5 years multi-jurisdictional workers' compensation claims experience.Experience working with self-insured program management.Experience directing/managing agent/broker, third party administrator, attorneys and litigation. Experience directing a pro active return to work program.Excellent analytical and project management skills.Experience in process safety management and risk management programs.Safety program management experience a plus.

When traveling to operation sites, the employee is required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is moderate). The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
