Web User Interface Developer

Custom Direct, a leading provider of customized printed products, security, and fraud protection services to small businesses and consumers, located in Harford County, is seeking a Web User Interface Developer to join our team

 

•Develops using XHTML, CSS, AJAX, Unobtrusive JavaScript, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and DotNet Nuke •Creates pixel-perfect translation of PSD designs to Web and into page template DotNet Nuke skins •Understands site functional specification and dynamic content integration •Maintains existing sites •Quickly figures out how a site is developed and reuses previously developed work •Follows standard development processes •Debugs and troubleshoots front end code •Knows and renders common cross-browser development issues •Evaluates wireframes, design comps and change requests for potential issues and technical specifications prior to beginning development •Thorough process of QA, addressing fixes logged by the design and technical departments •Researches and advocates current trends and information on web technology •Works as part of a team in website development and with website designers •Understands and implements web standards and valid, compliant code for functional and technical specifications •Completes appropriate technical documentation and provides status of work on a regular basis •Participates in the development of Custom Direct’s web policy and guidelines

 

Candidate should have at least three years of experience in web application development and expert level knowledge of  XHTML, CSS and advanced knowledge of JavaScript and Flash.  Experience with Adobe Fireworks and JavaScript frameworks (Prototype and Scriptaculous) is a plus. Working with server side application code, such as ASP, understands front end code debugging tools like Firebug or the Web Developer’s Toolbar.  Experience in Search Engine Optimization techniques, and accessibility concepts and regulations such as WCAG and Section 508.
