Waterborne Team Leader

PPG Industries, a $14 billion leading producer of coatings, glass, chemicals, and fiberglass is seeking talented people for a Waterborne Quality Assurance Team Leader position at the Delaware, OH Automotive Refinish facility.

The plant is located less than half-hour from downtown Columbus. It is home to major sports teams, universities, and cultural activities. In addition to performing the duties of a 2nd shift Lab Technician, successful candidate oversees the duties of the other QA lab tech(s) and serve as 2nd shift production coordinator in the Waterborne Refinish manufacturing cell. He/she will provide work direction to all 2nd shift Waterborne waged associates. Duties include, but are not limited to: * Ensuring productivity goals are met, * Scheduling is followed, and * Work is completed in a safe manner. Individual will also supervise and work in the QA lab on 2nd shift. These duties include, but are not limited to: * Day to day testing, equipment verifications and calibrations, supply ordering, and ensuring the lab is meeting FRC and cycle time goals. * QA training plans, time sheets, working closely with technical on questionable batches, and driving improvements in the lab. * Manage the lab 5S program as well as QA PM's and needed maintenance. An associates degree in the science fields is required, bachelors degree preferred, or equivalent 8 years of experience. College level chemistry lab work and statistics required. Previous Senior Lab Technical experience preferred.
