WIDE-LITE, is a Philips brand company, and a recognized leader in the design and manufacture of lighting fixtures and systems for industrial, commercial and outdoor markets. Our aggressive growth strategy has created an opening for a Web Developer/Administrator to work in our state-of-the-art division office/manufacturing facility in San Marcos, Texas.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Web Developer/Administrator is responsible for the creation and implementation of WIDE-LITE’s electronic and print communications strategy (including sub-brands). This position reports directly to the National Marketing Manager and is engaged in creative and management contributions to branding, design and development of web, literature, print, direct mail and other advertising and print projects. The incumbent primarily interfaces with the National Marketing Mgr., Marketing Coordinator, General Manager, National Sales Manager, Director of Engineering as well as inside and outside service providers (photographers, design consultants, printers, etc.).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (include but are not limited to)
Develops content and designs for the Wide-Lite website and industry websites including sub-brands.
Webmaster duties and responsibilities include: site mapping and planning, design development and creation, maintenance, updates, and enhancements, security and back-up.
Conducts research for the production of effective sales generating, brand enhancing collateral (digital & print media). Includes: competitive marketing research, review of other industry marketing communication strategy; review and develop a Social Media Strategy that applies to lighting (blogs, twitter, flickr, facebook, myspace, wiki, RSS feeds, etc.)
Maintains graphic standards for all brand and marketing collateral and assures consistent adherence to Philips marketing guidelines.
Design and develop content for Wide-Lite’s advertising and press release strategies.
Conceptualize, develop, refine and finalize designs for print and multimedia pieces to support Wide-Lite’s product and branding marketing initiatives (including sub-brands) including: website development/management, HTML e-mail notification, brochures, specification sheets, sales bulletins, PPT presentations, direct mail campaigns, videos, CD ROMs, tradeshows, etc.
Works in concert with the National Marketing Manager, marketing departmental staff, General Manager, National Sales Manager, and Director of Engineering to support and assist in the introduction of new products and programs.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. Extensive (8+ years) of applicable Graphic Design experience, staff and vendor management experience, and demonstrated excellence may serve in lieu of degree.
Web design, development, and maintenance experience is required.
Ability to oversee complex and multifaceted projects gained via a minimum of 3 yrs experience managing products/staff/vendors.
Expertise with current versions of Macintosh/PC based graphical design, publishing and imaging software is required including MS PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver.
Strong working knowledge of general office computer systems and software including Microsoft Office.
Superior organizational and written and verbal communications skills as well as the ability to work with personnel at all levels of an organization.
Self-starter who possesses the ability to work on multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
