Transportation Planner

Coordinate customer transfer shipments by the most economical and efficient means, and manage a multitude of transportation related opportunities.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Consolidate customer freight to minimize cost per cube. 2. Responsible for resolving time-sensitive issues, working within cost-constraints, to best service internal and external customers. 3. Analyze freight opportunities based on evaluation of contracted rates, operations capabilities, and carrier constraints in conjunction with meeting delivery appointments. 4. Performs daily updates to Catalyst system, to ensure proper loading sequence at the warehouse level. 5. Maintain and grow carrier relationships to support shipping requirements.  Other Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Quote airfreight pricing for expediting, suggesting less expensive options where available. 2. Understand load requirements, constraints, and contractual pricing to support coordinating efforts. 3. 4. Obtain one-time rates for shipments without contracted pricing. Work in a team environment to support departmental goals. *Will perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements:   College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.  Strong PC proficiency to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive and professional manner. Strong organizational and problem solving skills; the ability to independently manage several tasks at one time. The ability to absorb information quickly and to apply that knowledge according to the situation.  Must be Outlook strong; able to handle high volumes of emails and process efficiently; able to write and respond to emails in a proper and professional manner.Division/Department : SoloCup Travel Required : None LOCATION: OWINGS MILLS, MD 21117
