Trade Program Coordinator

The incumbent services strategic business units by centrally issuing certificates of origin for free trade agreements to 700 PPG customers annually or more frequently as required.  This involves over 32,000 PPG products and 550 raw material suppliers.   To do this  the incumbent collects PPG confidential product formulas and classifies basic paints, fiberglass and glass according to the US harmonized tariff classification system rules and works with a team of technical specialists to qualify the products. Incumbent maintains a web-based classification/NAFTA system for use by PPG employees for import/export purposes.  Incumbent interacts with various levels of customer service, sales, IT, accounting and purchasing personnel to issue NAFTA certificates of origin.  In addition, the incumbent develops and issues certificate of origin forms to meet requirements of other US trade programs as they are developing. Incumbent coordinates timely completion of external customer requests for manufacturer's affidavits, AALA, CAFÉ, traced value and Buy America information.  Additionally the incumbent shares responsibility for export documentation of ocean, air and truck shipments to customers in multiple countries guided by the order and regulatory requirements.

The incumbent is part of a cross-cultural international logistics team servicing PPG imports and exports globally.  The individual, over time, must develop a working knowledge of US customs import regulations and trade program interpretations to properly meet PPG customer requirements and follow customs ISA controls. Must be organized, accurate, detail and goal oriented.  Excellent phone skills, good judgment, and problem-solving skills are required as the position works with both internal and external customers, brokers and forwarders daily.  The position also requires strong PC skills to use the PPG NAFTA/classification database web system, the PPG express system, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.  On a regular basis, the incumbent queries Tandem and Sunbelt as well as other internal systems to collect PPG product information. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and prior customer service experience.
