Trade Compliance Manager
Defense Company in Sacramento area is seeking Trade Compliance Manager with a minimum of 5 years experience managing import and export activities under State Department Jurisdiction (International Traffic in Arms Regulations - ITAR). Candidates must have a detailed understanding of the ITAR and Customs regulations. They must be analytical, organized and able to apply the ITAR in many different types of business transactions.
Trade Compliance Manager would be responsible for all aspects of trade compliance for the Sacramento location of a larger company. They will report to a Director that is not on location. Day to Day activities include:
Assisting with the development of licensing strategies and compliance procedures for international marketing, sales, support, offshore procurement and manufacturing of defense articles.
Preparing, submitting and statusing license applications, agreements, and other requests for approval to the Office of Defense Trade Controls.
Participating in compliance audits and investigations.
Handling complex business transactions involving licenses, and agreements. Delivering training as required for employees engaged in international business activities.
Making control classification decisions for both hardware and technical data..
Enforcing Corporate Office Trade Compliance Policies.
Working with Customs Brokers to ensure shipments clear Customs properly.
Candidates should be probative in their approach to ensure proper authorizations from the State Department are obtained in a timely manner. They must be organized and able to communicate well with multiple functional areas. Candidates would become an empowered official for this location.
