Tire Development Engineer

 

Our vision for this individual is to:

· Achieve a thorough understanding of the entire tire manufacturing process, tire construction, tire testing, and overall tire performance in relation to target applications.Develop and introduce new tire lines into production using valid engineering principles and corporate standards. Maintain existing plant product specifications.Provide technical support to production departments when needed.Apply engineering principles to resolve tire production issues, improve production processes, ensure proper tire performance levels and improve overall tire performance.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

· Responsible for all phases of product development and industrialization of Toyo Tires through experiments, initial production and full production release.

· Including:

a. Product, component and process specifications.

b. Factory Technical specifications.

c. Product testing.

d. Product analysis.

e. Product Quality.

· Create and maintain project schedules.

· Coordinate development projects with marketing, production and corporate resources.

· Work with Material Design Engineers and Purchasing department to support development work for qualification of new materials and additional suppliers.

· Effectively issue and present technical reports and procedures when necessary.

· Maintain product specifications and support plant production departments when necessary.

 

The Qualified candidate will have experience and skills in the following areas:

 

· Product development methodology 

· Manufacturing process 

· Project Management

· Automotive Technology

· Conversant with Microsoft Windows Office (Word, Excel, Access), Auto CAD

· Proven Engineering problem solving skills

· Attention to details

· Strong verbal and written skills

· Ability to work with minimal supervision
