Technical Services Representative-Concrete
Opportunity for a QC/Technical Services Rep working in concrete lab/field for a construction material producer based in the Aromas,CA area. This position would service concrete labs/production sites within Watsonville, Monterey Bay, Gilroy areas. This is a direct hire position with benefits and use of a company car (for business and personal).
Job Responsibilities
Test fresh and hardened concrete, and aggregate materials in the laboratory and field. Prepare concrete mix design submittals for both internal and external customers. Design new concrete mixes using standard American Concrete Institute (ACI) practices, and confirm mix properties through concrete trial batches produced in the laboratory or at Company concrete plants. Analyze concrete compressive strength and other data for trends, and prepare relevant reports of results for Concrete Branch and Division Managers. Work closely with Concrete Branch personnel to provide quality control and other technical services during concrete placements. Investigate concrete materials, production, and construction discrepancies; diagnose problems, and report findings and recommendations based on sound concrete technology. Instruct concrete courses for Company personnel, as well as assist in conducting customer educational seminars. Work with Department Manager to conduct research investigations and studies to address recurring product or service discrepancies, or improve product quality. Work in support of the Research Techncial Services Baseline Goals and company corporate objectives.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science or Associates degree or equivalent work experience. Relevant concrete laboratory and quality control experience desired.
SKILLS:
Strong organizational and time-management skills; self-starter; ability to work
independently and within teams; proficiency in using MS Office products
including Excel, Word, and Outlook; excellent oral and written communication
skills; ability to analyze/interpret data and provide sound technical
recommendations; ability to lift 40-lb. samples. Able to work at night or on
weekends as needed. Able to travel to participate in training classes.
EXPERIENCE:
Current ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certification or equivalent;
laboratory testing of concrete and concrete aggregate, and on-site concrete
quality control. Demonstrated proficiency in developing concrete mix designs
according to standard ACI practices.
OTHER: Must have valid Driver's License and clean driving record
