C&D TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is a publicly held, global, high-tech manufacturer of power storage devices and power supplies. We currently have an opening for a Technical Service Manager in our corporate office in Blue Bell, PA.

 

This position will require 40% travel.

 

The Technical Service Manager is responsible for product service; administration of warranty; technical support for customers and agents; advising management, Quality Assurance and Engineering of product problems; review of field complaints; and resolution of service and warranty problems.

Responsibilities: 

·  Administer warranty program for C&D through review of complaints and analysis of failures or problems

·  Provide technical assistance and support to agents and customers, including on-site battery inspections; training in battery charging and maintenance; service manual review; application surveys etc.

·  Evaluate special warranty requests; evaluate and resolve complex warranty claims;  pro-rate batteries for warranty credit

·  May also perform one or more of the following, Supervise and review time and work of subordinates; write operating test and repair procedures; alert Legal Department of product liability situations; coordinate installation of batteries

·  May prepare weekly and monthly departmental status reports, monthly warranty activity report, issue Field Service Letters, submit installation pricing to sales personnel

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Degree or equivalent with knowledge of physics, electrochemistry and battery training

·  Five years experience in any of the following: Laboratory (test) experience; Service or field experience; and or inspection of product

·  Familiarity with product operation and application and basic understanding of associated equipment

·  Effective communication and interpersonal skills

·  Analytical skills

·  Technical writing skills
