Technical Analyst (STAR DCN)
The STAR* DCN** Technical Analyst (TA) will enable Navistar's current business-to-business (B2B) communications with dealers to support a strategic growth initiative for International's dealer and fleet systems. The TA works in a team environment with business analysts, system experts, development teams, external vendors and dealer and fleet technical personnel throughout the design, development and implementation phases of projects related to current and future B2B interfaces. The TA defines system and application designs from functional business requirements, is accountable for the performance, quality and effectiveness of project deliverables - and will do whatever is necessary to ensure the success of the initiative. *Dealer Communications Network (DCN) refers to the infrastructure, communications technology and suite of applications that support Navistar's dealers. **Standards in Technology for Automotive Retail (STAR) is an external non-profit organization founded by NADA to collaborate activities of automotive, truck and recreational vehicle OEMs, dealer and other retail management system providers, and their dealers and fleets. International is a member of STAR and represented on its steering committee. Bachelors Degree or at least 4 years of IT experience At least 2 years of IT experience Travel up to 25% Desired Skills: Positive Attitude, Ethics and International Values which support our company's values, and a healthy, high performance culture Bachelors Degree in IT or Computer Science preferred 1 year MQ Series programming and support (not administration) 1 year programming RDB/Oracle or similar DBMS 1 year programming in a third generation programming language Experience with JAVA/J2EE or similar programming language Development experience with web services using XML based on standards and transport protocols (SOAP) Development experience using web-based tools and technology Technical knowledge of Windows, Unix, VMS, mainframe and/or other operating systems, including architecture, configuration and protocol Experience developing SQL and database objects and/or defining logical and physical data models Experience with a Java Development environment such as WSAD or RAD Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project) Experience with application upgrades and troubleshooting application issues Knowledge of messaging including one or more of the following concepts: message queues, SOA and web services Knowledge of application globalization (sensitive to regional conventions, languages and alternate formats) Knowledge of Websphere (WAS), Tomcat or JBoss Knowledge of project management and business analysis methodologies Knowledge of development methodologies including working with an offshore model for development and support Knowledge of UML documents Strong analytical and problem solving skills Sound judgment and reasoning skills Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including strong presentation skills Ability to translate functional designs into technical designs, and conversely to translate complex information into common terms Ability to both facilitate and actively participate in meetings with representatives from multiple business and/or IT units Develops a positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, and is able to influence decisions at the work group level Demonstrates strong time management, organizational, & administrative skills Visit us at www.Navistar.com to discover more about our organization.
