The Technical Support Specialist will provide technical field support for service providers and enduser customers on Ingersoll-Rand Rotary Aircompressors both domestically and internationally.Position value is ensuring field issues are identified and resolved quickly to eliminate customer equipment downtime and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty retained. Principle Responsibilities: Daily provision of timely response and accurate information to assist the field with troubleshooting of problem equipment. Take responsibility for field reported issues and bring to a resolution Use field feedback and experience to work with Engineering and Manufacturing to implement corrective actions which improve product reliability for customers and reduce warranty expense. Develop and conduct effective technical training for service providers and end users to improve their ability to maintain and repair equipment. Assist with development of new products to ensure potential issues are identified and resolved early in design. Initiate and develop unit modifications when involved in reliability issues and lead to product redesign through Engineering. Compile and publish technical bulletins to ensure field personnel have access to latest updates / reference data.Percentage of Travel:20%Min. Yrs. Experience:5Education Standard:Education Type:

Position requires experience and troubleshooting proficiency in Compressed Air Dryers (Refrigerated/Desiccant) specifically Ingersoll Rand offerings, Power Electronics, Variable Speed Drives associated with Industrial mechanical equipment. Degree in Technical / Engineering discipline and/or proven track record and experience in associated field. Position requires respect of and sound working relationships with field technical personel, field service management, internal engineering and manufacturing. Confident, courteous and proffessional in all situations requiring direct customer contact. Pro-active approach to resolving customer issues, taking responsibility to form and lead teams as required to drive corrective actions and follow through to conclusion. Require sufficient experience and ability to work effectively acting on own initiative with minimal supervision requirement. A demanding position requiring the ability to be involved in and deal effectively with several issues simultaneously via phone / fax /email etc, under pressure in most cases to resolve issues fast due to customer distress. The willingness and ability to physically work on equipment as required in the field which will require knowledge of safety procedures [e.g. lock out/tag out] and also correct lifting practices [rigging for heavy machinery + how to avoid personal injury etc] Work will involve confidentiality to prevent potential exposure to claims against the company either legally or financially. The position requires travel both domestically and internationally including weekends as required. It is necessary to provide after-hours customer support cover on a rotational basis typically every 3 weeks. [Including weekends] via pager and cell phone plus laptop. Required to make technical assessments on warranty claims and decisions to assign defect cost liability.
