Supply Chain Logistics Manager

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Supply Chain Logistics Manager to join our organization.

 

The Supply Chain Manager will establish macro level guidelines for global supply chain logistics, to include cost effective transportation and distribution services worldwide, moving product from our suppliers, thru our warehouses, to our customers.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Develop AS400 based global freight rating system, to allow quick determination of most economical ship method from all locations, as well as freight rates for specified transit method.  Negotiate and execute transportation and third party logistics agreements worldwide.Develop supply chain logistics process improvements to reduce costs and improve customer service. Provide freight and supply chain logistics cost analysis support, where needed.Insure that products shipped worldwide are accurate and  in compliance with respective customs regulations and properly classified.Provide effective leadership of supply chain logistics among InVue operations.Assist as needed, with Charlotte based supply chain personnel with regard to purchasing and inventory management. Develop and maintain transit time matrix, and proactive shipment tracking system for product shipments from vendors to warehouses (exception based as well as quick access).

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 College degree, with preference to a concentration in global supply chain logistics.Ability to read and write English proficiently.Excellent written and spoken communication skills a must.Ability to perform basic mathematical functions:  addition, subtraction, division, multiplication.Ability to pay close attention to detail a must.-5-10 years experience in global supply chain logistics, all aspects, with concentration in domestic and international freight, and third party logistics/warehousing.-Detail oriented work habits in a fast paced environment.-Able to multi task, and to handle multiple projects/priorities at the same time.-Results oriented, with good project management skills and decision making ability.Experience with AS400 Business System-Previous interface with IT in the development of system solutions to logistical problems.
