Supplier Quality Analyst

Position Overview

 

Manage supplier quality activities at Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance for 4 cylinder engines. 

 

Major Duties of Position

 

· Manages supplier quality activities for engine production.Initial issue investigation with production/quality personnel to define issue and potential supplier responsibilityRapidly establishing clean point to production and tracking migration of different clean points (different inspection points) through the process.Communicating issue with supplier and tracking supplier activities for problem resolution.Communicating supplier problem solving activities (including timing and clean point migration) to production through daily activity reporting and a periodic issue summary status reports.

 

· Utilizing problem solving techniques to support and review/approve supplier problem solving and corrective action activities.

 

· Work with corporate supplier quality, production control, engineering, and supplier to identify and implement improvement opportunities in areas of cost and quality.  Track responsible activities and report out Supplier Quality and Quality management team.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.  Masters is preferred. 

 

· 3 - 5 years of experience in castings, forging, machining or other areas of component/powertrain manufacturing operations.  Powertrain or assembly plant experience in SQA, RE/PVE, or Plant Quality is preferred.

 

· GD&T training and experience is required.

 

· Green belt/Black belt certification is preferred.

 

· Strong written, oral, and presentation skills are required.  Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the Plant and Supplier Quality staff.

 

· Additional formal training in modern management approaches, stressing participative problem solving, interactive decision-making, lean manufacturing and team approaches to job completion is preferred.

 

· Knowledge of NCT system, ECIMS, 3CPR, CN's, IAA's, and warranty metrics is preferred.  Knowledge of IBSC metrics and reporting is a plus. 

 

Organizational Alignment

 

· This position will report directly to Corporate SQA manager.
