Supervisor, Distribution Center

Supervise operation to ensure orders are shipped on time, accurate, and meet customer specifications.  Maintain accurate inventory by ensuring receiving and warehouse operations are followed.  Monitor personnel to meet key performance measurements and enforce all safety and operational policies. 

Coordinate shipments to facilitate timely and accurate order processing in order to maintain a 98% on time ship rate and minimizing truck detention.

Train hourly personnel on both Oracle system and physical shipping procedures to ensure customer requirements are met and inventory remains accurate. 

 

Hold associates accountable for all safety, productivity, quality and company policies and procedures, and administer discipline as needed. 

 

 

  Identify inventory discrepancies and order issues as they arise and communicate effectively with other departments to quickly resolve any issues.

 

  Help identify, develop, and implement Lean productivity enhancements to increase

shipping efficiencies and reduce costs.

 

The objective is to run a smooth, efficient operation by ensuring shipments are accurate and on time.  At the same time making sure the operation is run as lean as possible to maximize productivity and efficiencies.  This position is critical to the business because it is the last chance to ensure the customer is satisfied.

A total of at least 4 years of warehouse work experience with 2 of those years in a supervisory capacity. 

 

Ability to effectively supervise up to 60 individuals in a union environment.  Ability to multi-task, set priorities, meet commitments and deadlines, and work independently are musts for this position.
