Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Manager - Metal Exp Required

Scope of Position:
This key role will develop strategic plans impacting metals, supply chain, cost reduction and quality to provide creative yet effective supply solutions with suppliers and customers. This position is heavily involved in supplier relationship management, supplier optimization, total cost modeling, direct supplier negotiations and quality and productivity initiatives. Scope includes but is not limited to:
- Strong market, technical and procurement background sourcing base metals, alloys, precious metals and stamped / fabricated components globally.
- Innovative contracting in volatile markets to assure competitive pricing models.
- Have a technical / engineering background, education and material application experience.
- Capable of working independently.
- Strong communication skills; can communicate across all levels of the organization globally.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Be willing to travel 30+%.
Competent in Metals:
- Cold and Hot rolled steel, brass, copper, aluminum, zinc, nickel, platinum, gold, etc..
- Low cost global and regional stamping and fabricated component manufactures.
- Innovation in stamping tooling.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Working closely with businesses to identify new sources of supply.
- Identify lower cost opportunities working with technical and engineering communities both in
supply and material selection to reduce costs through supplier, material and utilization efforts.
- Negotiate and write contracts, NDAs, RFPs and RFQs.
- Report monthly global market conditions and make sourcing recommendations.
Travel Requirements:
30% + travel commitment this will include travel to Europe and Asia along with the necessary domestic travel
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
Monday - Friday but also as the job requires which may exceed 40 hours a week with travel
Required Education:
- BS in Engineering or technical field
- MBA desirable
