Stockroom Clerk - 2nd Shift

PURPOSE: Pulls stored materials for orders and moves to production or shipping area. Documents information relating to receipt, storage, or distribution of materials. Performs activities to monitor and maintain inventory control of stocked materials. Handles material and product to maintain appropriate flow through production areas. Documents incoming and outgoing materials and supplies. EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: 1 year of relevant experience in a production warehouse environment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Analytical/Problem solving skills. Warehouse Processes (Inventory Control, Material Stocking Methods, Packaging, etc.). Computer skills (Microsoft Office, MAPICS, etc.). Mechanical Measurement and Instrumentation skills (Scale counting). Oral and written Communication skills. Ability to handle multiple programs and tasks simultaneously and efficiently. Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, have a positive professional demeanor. Excellent time management skills, and ability to pay attention to detail. Professionalism and ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel. Ability to work in a comprehensive team environment. Ability to drive a forklift as necessary DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Reads shop orders or follows oral instruction to ascertain materials to be moved. Pulls stored materials for orders and moves to production or shipping area. Loads and unloads materials onto or from shelving, trays, etc. by hand. Conveys materials from stores to designated department through approved methods. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers. Counts, weighs and records number of units of material moved or handled on appropriate shop order forms. Examines materials received, verifies part numbers and checks for discrepancies such as damage or unmarked parts. Maintains accurate inventory records of all stored items. Posts to inventory records new materials received and materials dispensed as recorded on Material Requisitions slips or Pick List. Performs inventory cycle count as determined by company policy, to verify inventory records and corrects discrepancies. Studies warehouse inventory processes for effectiveness. Suggests improvements to stocking and distribution procedures, and acts to improve timeliness or reduce costs. May operate a forklift for moving or stacking materials.
