Staff HRIS - Analyst & Operations Specialist - H1761

Job DescriptionThe HRIS Analyst & Operations Specialist position is responsible for providing functional support for HGST’s HR and HRIS business processes and systems in order to meet the information needs of internal HR staff and employee end-users.  Hitachi GST utilizes PeopleSoft HCM 8.8 and other internally developed business applications.  In addition to acting as a contact point for end-users who are experiencing difficulties in using these systems, the HRIS Analyst & Operations Specialist is expected to participate with other HRIS team members to ensure that the appropriate employee changes are processed accurately and in a timely manner.  This role will also have strong role in working to build out an improved HR Service Delivery model – i.e. Service Level Agreements, Metrics, and Continuous Process Improvement. Primary Roles and Responsibilities Provide support for HR business applications for HR staff and end-users by acting as the Tier-one escalation point related to the ongoing administration of PeopleSoft, and other HR applications.  Provide just-in-time Tier-one support for training needs related to HR Policies, Procedures, and system tools. Propose new or revised processes to prevent user or data issues from recurring based on root cause analysis. Responsible for following the procedures for data entry and participate in the collection of the data for regular metric reporting.  Involves conducting data audits to ensure 100% data integrity. Provide report generation and assist in PeopleSoft query development. Maintain HRIS Desk Procedures making sure to document changes. Assist in User Acceptance Testing for major HRIS projects. Conduct audits for compliance, SOX, ISO and other internal audit requirements. Research and identify the root causes for data problems such as user error, lack of standard procedures, or application problems and own resolution, which may require interaction with Hitachi GST Business Analysts and other functional HR groups. Develop the plan and execute on monthly metrics that measure the effectiveness of the HR Services team.Job Requirements 3+ years of experience in managing HR data and database systems using any of the major HR applications – i.e. PeopleSoft, Oracle, or SAP.  PeopleSoft 8.x and above preferred. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience Experience using query tools to write, modify, and run reports – i.e. PS Query. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).  Experience with Visio and MS Project is helpful. Experience providing Tier 1 and 2 levels support for PeopleSoft and HR Business processes a  plus Able to quickly learn new business processes, new systems and tools Ideal candidate has a background in creating or working in an HR Service Center model. Must be able to handle and manage confidential employee information.
