Staff Account/Financial Cost Analyst

Duties/Responsibilities       

Daily responsibilities will include product COGS analysis and monitoring as explained below and other expense cost analysis. At the end of every month, this position will be responsible for creating and entering general journal adjusting entries into the general ledger. There will be occasional accounting projects throughout the year that this position will be required to lead or assist with and the duties may expand as the company grows and as time allows on a daily basis.

Utilizes the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System (Global Shop Solutions) and other in-house developed xls spreadsheets in continually assessing the financial and order fulfillment process for the company.      

The financial piece reports on product line COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and GM (Gross Margin) performance and assists in identifying variances to plan and recommends areas to drive improvement efforts.                                                                       

The order fulfillment Key Performance Indicators (KPI) part of the job duties reports on the quality, cost, delivery, inventory, 5S, safe workplace, and other key performance indicators in frequently advising management of status and actions being taken to meet business objectives.

 

Skills/Educational Requirements   Bachelors degree in accounting or finance and 5 – 10 years of financial analysis experience required. Excellent knowledge of excel and its charting capabilities is required in turning data into trend charts and visual media in expressing performance against plans.  Experience with any accounting software package required and general ledger experience preferred.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions   This is an office environment position with occasional interfacing with Manufacturing Management personnel and posting KPI metrics in manufacturing and other locations around the company. No physical labor is anticipated in this role.

 

Reports To     Controller directly with frequent interfacing with the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the KPI metrics.
