Sr Sales Rep (Electrical Distribution Industry)

OSRAM SYLVANIA has 22 manufacturing plants, one equipment assembly operation and twelve research and development laboratories, along with a network of sales offices and distribution centers serving all of the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Most of the company's products are marketed in North and South America under the SYLVANIA or OSRAM brand name.
Sell to a cross section of Industrial & Commercial customers which includes more complex accounts.
This position is based in the Los Angeles, California area: LA, Orange County and Ventura County.
Spends at least 80% of time meeting with customers off-site. Requires a high level of sales proficiency and may provide guidance to less experienced sales reps. Manage a diverse base of distributor accounts to achieve sales objectives. Work closely with distributor management to develop and implement plans to grow Sylvania business. Work closely with distributor sales people to train and motivate them to sell Sylvania products.
The successful candidate will be provided the necessary equipment to set up a home-based office for this position.
Bachelors degree in Marketing or Business plus minimum 5 yrs related experience required. Incumbents may have 8-15 years related experience. Job requires the following skills.
Knowledge of the Industrial & Commercial lighting market. Solid communication (written and verbal) skills, organization and time management skills, Strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade, ability to work independently and good conflict resolution skills.
