Overview Lead project requirements in design, detailing and costing to new and/or existing products with minimal supervision.Interact with customers and plants on questions relating to task at hand. Dimensions Position is responsible for product designs, detailing and cost.Position will function within the C2C process. Principal Accountabilities Research all projects, prepare stack-ups, clearance studies, gather and analyze all pertinent information required to back up conclusions. Ability to check major design, drawings and cost studies prepared by other drafting personnel with respect to accuracy, technical adequacy, and conformance with accepted procedures Prepare cost studies consisting of layouts, new details, engineering bill of material and all supporting paperwork.  Insure accuracy with regard to fit & function and conformance to established procedures. Prepare accurate and concise layouts of modified present components and entirely new concepts and designs Make clearance layouts of static and/or dynamic components Calculate stack-up of detail components Through interface with other functional areas, identify, plan, and implement actions required to maintain schedules. Convey ideas and thoughts clearly so as to be understood by others, both in drawing information and technical discussions Ability to spot potential improvements in design Provide technical assistance to sales personnel. Create product installation drawings Create exploded view drawings with related part list for customer service literature Process changes to product drawings   Education / Experience Two-year relevant technical degree or High School with minimum 8 years design experience (complex design layouts, related details and bill of materials) Proficient in CAD.  Specifically Revisio and Pro/E modeling and assembly Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerances. Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes Good written and oral communications skills
