Sr Packaging Engineer (2 year contract)

This temporary position will support the New Ventures Group in Danvers, Massachusetts. The duration of this position is approximately 2 years with the possibility of extension and/or permanent placement.

Designs, develops, and tests a wide variety of containers used for the protection, display and handling of products. Determines packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, considering need for resistance to such external variables as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and teampering. With considerable latitude for the exercise of independent judgment, performs moderately difficult and responsible work. Organizes work, follows prescribed methods and guidelines, and recognizes conditions and results that may affect the findings. Works under minimum supervision with some help from supervisor, or more senior technical members of the organization.
B.S. in Packaging Science / Engineering or related engineering degree. 5 years of experience. Working knowledge of packaging materials, packaging methods, packaging dynamics & testing, distribution packaging to include unit load and container optimization. Computer skills to include CAD (3D CAD very desirable), MS office applications, enterprise applications a plus.
