Sr. Hardware Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer.
You will be a member of the R&D staff. The primary function of the R&D department is to design, maintain, support and provide training on new products. The primary responsibilities of the Sr. Hardware Engineer relate to product specifications, schedule creation, schedule tracking, hardware design, cost analysis, reliability and quality testing, production support, documentation, flow charting and writing software. An in depth understanding of the application of the product is vital to the development of a quality and innovative product that will meet the needs of the marketplace. A detailed knowledge of microprocessor, digital, analog, RF and power systems are required. Organizational and communication skills are beneficial toward success.Typical duties for this position would include: * Work closely with purchasing department and production department for support of vendor selection, alternate material sources and other manufacturing problems. * Work closely with outside vendors, maintain files and the library with up to date catalogs, spec books and other new product and component documentation. * Help integration of third party devices with company products.
Requirements for this position:This position requires someone with 5+ years professional experience including designing digital electronics and PCB artwork, and generating user requirement and design specifications. Experience with CAD systems, development systems, PCs, application software and programming, such as PCB artwork design, and Orcad highly desirable. Experience with data communication networks, microprocessor based programmable controllers and Cypress PLDS a plus. Additional Requirements for this position include: * Able to travel every other week to work with Engineering Support Services in University Park, IL location. * Able to implement and follow Engineering Change Order (ECO) process changes to streamline the ECO process. * Good at delegating work to others. * Good project management skills. * Good hands on ability to design and trouble shoot digital communications circuits.
