Sr Financial Audit and Controls Analyst (Fast Track)
Business Unit Description The Test & Measurement Segment is a $1.2B division with global reach. The Test & Measurement Finance department has won awards for business process improvements from the Institute of Management Accountants (IOMA) and is recognized in SPX as one of the best in the finance community. Job Summary This position will report to and work closely with the Controller for the Test & Measurement Segment to ensure:- Overall Compliance and Controllership activities for the Segment, including; Internal Controls, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and reporting.- Financial results are reported in accordance with GAAP.There is global responsibility through 4 main business groups within the segment covering over 15 countries. Responsibilities - Lead the global Sarbanes Oxley compliance efforts for the Segment including maintaining proper internal control documentation, monitoring of control design and effectiveness, preparation, maintenance and review of self-assessment documentation.- Assist segment controller with US GAAP and Policy compliance across the global Segment including updates, changes to GAAP, new Policies, corporate changes, etc.- Assess and guide compliance with policies and procedures in an effort to protect company assets and minimize risk.- Review of technical accounting issues and working with business units to prepare proper documentation and communications with corporate and internal and external auditors including formal document control for reviews and investigations.- Assist the controllership function for the segment to ensure organizational compliance and the effective resolution of problems affecting segment controllership.- Identify and implement processes and procedures designed to identify balance sheet risk areas and implement procedures designed to reduce risk such as: balance sheet audits, balance sheet risk assessment, and attest procedures supporting accuracy of balance sheet representations.- Coordinate the sharing of best practices across the multiple business units.- Drive Business Process Improvements related to finance processes and financial systems.- Create and maintain a productive work environment with appropriate communication and involvement of all team members to ensure effective operations in accordance with SPX Leadership Standards.- Ability to perform in a matrix environment and to over-communicate.- Travel 25% (including international portions) to various business units within the Test & Measurement segment. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's Degree (Accounting / Finance emphasis), CPA highly desirable- 2-5 years of technical accounting experience required, Big 4 highly desireable- Manufacturing industry experience required- Financial audit experience required- Operational audit and / or SOX experience required.- Take charge individual accustomed to working in a fast paced, matrix environment satisfying multiple customers that can also partner with the business unit leaders to improve results.- Effective communicator, both verbally and written; active listener.- Strong Presentation skills.- Able and willing to travel 25% (including global portions) required. Compensation Base salary up to $80,000. Eligible for annually paid bonus.
