Sr. Engineering Technician Tyco Safety Products is a division of Tyco International, a worldwide leader in fire protection and electronic security solutions. Within Tyco Safety Products, we design, manufacture, and distribute thousands of products ranging from fire detection and suppression systems, personal protective equipment and intrusion security to access control and video solutions, anti-theft and supply chain solutions. Tyco Safety Products is currently searching for Sr. Engineering Technician for Video Products to be located in Boca Raton, Florida.   Job Responsibilities: In this role you will be responsible for the following:   Primary job function will be performed in a lab environment evaluating video systems and equipment to ensure the quality and optimization of products.  Information from evaluations must be documented using a PC workstation in a normal office environment.   Development work including engineering documentation, comparisons, third party interaction, and competitive analysis  Responsible for maintaining your own lab  Review of user and installation manuals  Developing tactical plans to execute strategy and driving the execution of plans  Critical Skills/Core Competencies   Action Oriented Learning on the Fly Problem Solving Driven for Results Time Management Written Communications Job Requirements  Associates degree from an accredited 4 year university (or equivalent) in electronics or electrical engineering. Bachelor’s degree in electronics or electrical engineering is a plus. At least 5-10 years of electronics technician support with product groups.  Ability to perform video analysis for video systems, cameras and peripheral products.  Must have analog and digital circuitry troubleshooting skills including test fixture experience. Knowledgeable in CCIR/PAL and EIA/NTSC standards. Ability to provide detailed oral and written documentation or reports pertaining to established engineering practices.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Waveform monitor, vector-scope experience desirable, and VM700T experience a plus. IP over video, networking, LabView programming language experience a plus. Must possess good written and communication skills.
