Sr. Electrical Engineer

Our client designs and manufactures a wide range of DC-to-DC and AC-to-DC power converters for use in telecom and industrial applications. In order to support customer demand in North America, a design facility is being established in the Dallas, Texas area. An experienced Sr. Electrical Engineer is required for this activity.Responsibilities. Design and develop custom AC-DC and DC-DC power converters to meet all aspects of customer specifications. Select circuit topology and analyze circuit in detail to meet the design requirement. . Select electrical components to meet design requirement. Analyze component stress to ensure the reliability of the power supply. Generate schematic and bill of material.. Lead the magnetic design and PCB layout for assigned project. . Work with mechanical designer to ensure the design meets manufacturing requirements . Write design verification plan and lead the verification process.. Work as a team member to meet development schedules and unit cost targets.. Follow established development process and design practices, and make use of existing component database, CAD design tools, qualification procedure, etc Technical knowledge. Minimum of 7 years experience in design of power converters for telecom or industrial applications. Experience with design of DC-DC and AC-DC power converters up to 1kW Other skillsThis position requires excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. TravelTravel may be required to support product design. There may also be a need for flexibility in working hours, to accommodate conference calls to international customers.EducationBachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent.
