Sr. Design Engineer (REPOST) (D10701)

- - REQUIREMENTS:-Responsible for the design and development of MBE900/4000 engine parts and components and related parts within agree time scales and budgets according to the company's design and release procedures. -Responsibilities include review and approvals of designs, reports, permits, specifications and work scopes.-Organization of cross-functional product development teams during the development phase to achieve on-time deliveries and quality sign-off.- Design (new products or revising existing ones)- Test support for new designs- Application design (packaging studies, new component design for different NAFTA truck applications) - Documentation of design changes- Release support - Change management support- Engine component quality improvement (finding solutions for engineering problems);- MBE900 EPA07 production support (planning and implementing new designs into production). - Facilitating release processes including design, documentation and testing; - Devising and organizing tests for release process and/or quality studies which will answer questions from customers and/or other engineers involved in component development; - Anticipating engine or component behavior in different conditions with computer modeling software (usually CATIA, FEM); - Analyzing and interpreting technical data into reports or presentations - Contributing to regular team meetings to update colleagues on progress, problems and new developments and designs; - Managing all details of projects- Recognizing the benefits of engineering developments to related departments and customers(OEM), collaboration with other DDC engine departments (S60, HDEP) - Work with suppliers, support outsourcing of parts for MBE900 EPA07 SOP- Support purchasing negotiating costs with suppliers- Monitoring any related systems or engineering issues associated with the component and final product; - Supervising technical staff, interns, exchange designers (dependent on specific role); - Operating in cross-functional or internationally based teams (design, test and quality) - Ensuring work directly contributes to the company's business objectives. - Responding to customer (OEM) questions quickly and in an appropriate way representing the interests of DDC- Evaluating and resolving problems; - Assisting with design related questions; - Liaising with and working alongside application engineering and technical sales engineers; - Monitoring the performance of products; - Providing customers with reports and feedback on their service requests; - Developing and maintaining relationships with NAFTA OEMs; - Offering feedback to Stuttgart engineering on future product development, features and functions. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor or Master Degree and a minimum of 5 years engine design experience. Catia V4 and V5. DaimlerChrysler SMARAGD. EDS/BCS, PDS system (NedWork Client). Digital MockUp, Assembly Design. Design Experience in diesel engine design. Demonstrated experience with internal and external teams. Design experience in a Truck environment. Bi-lingual language skills ' English and German. Excellent technical writing. Problem solving, communications. Planning, project management. Interpersonal skills. RESPOND HERE!
