Position Title: Sr. Design Engineer: Combustion, Mentor, OHPosition Summary: With little supervision, responsible for technical duties which require new product design, existing product improvements, analysis, scheduling and planning. With little supervision, responsible for technical duties which require new product design, existing product improvements, analysis, scheduling and planning.Responsibilities:· Provide outstanding customer support· Preparation of formal technical proposals that includes design concepts accompanied by written descriptions.· Design & development of new products from initial concept to production release.· New product development to include: material selection, fuel flow scheduling, airflow requirements, thermal protection, spray, quality, cost reduction and ease in manufacturability.· Coordinate and control combined efforts in a team environment to accomplish program objectives.· Support manufacturing activities.· Coordinate and expedite product drawing release with drafting department.· Oversee field failure investigations.· Assist in program planning.· Some domestic and international travel will be required as needed.Requirements:1. A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering2. 6 years experience in a related field3. Experience in combustion.4. Product design experience, preferable new designs5. Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.56. 3D Modeling CAD experience; Pro-E a plus. Pro-Mechanica7. Familiarity with conventional and non-conventional machining methods8. Metal joining experience a plus. Valve experience a plus9. Knowledge of stainless steel, nickel and cobalt based superalloys a plus10. Customer support experience – an attitude to do the best.11. Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.
