Position Summary: The Sr. Demand Planner is the driver behind the development of the Demand and Net Demand Forecast, including management of the consensus process used to develop these forecasts. This position owns responsibility for ensuring that high quality forecasts are developed for each planning group, by leveraging the best available cross-functional inputs and applying judgment based on knowledge of the business and robust cross-functional discussions. The Sr. Demand Planner directly manages the working sessions and the consensus process, owns analyzing and improving forecast accuracy, and executes process improvements as appropriate. Will develop accurate, high quality forecasts for the individual Brands within an SBU, by utilizing best-practice processes and sound business knowledge. Foster cross-functional discussion to improve the quality and effective interpretation of inputs for developing the Demand Forecast. Leverage statistical tools within forecast software to generate more accurate and actionable forecasts. Apply individual judgment and knowledge of the business in arriving at a final forecast for a Brand. Directly Manage the Consensus and Working Session processes. Direct Working Sessions ensuring strong participation from the Marketing and Sales departments, as well as other functions when appropriate. Manage Consensus Process to ensure that the appropriate issues have been resolved and consensus around the forecast achieved. Conduct regular continuous improvement and process efficiency reviews. Leverage the Demand Planning processes to develop Fiscal Year forecasts during the business planning cycle. Work with the Marketing, Sales, Product Supply, and Finance to fully understand proposed fiscal year plans and implications. Improve forecast accuracy by effectively analyzing sources of forecast error and recommending appropriate action plans. Develop and publish key forecast accuracy metrics and analyze prior forecasts to identify potential sources of forecast error, and develop action plans to improve accuracy.Required Qualifications: Required BS/BA; quantitative majors preferred Experience with Excel; experience with forecasting software preferred Ability to effectively prioritize work Working knowledge of time-series forecasting Ability to identify variables driving business results Ability to interface with all levels of the organization Solid writing skills Strong cross-functional team leadership skills Ability to own and implement process changes Ability to thrive and provide direction in ambiguous situations Demonstrates constructive approach to addressing problems and issues Desired Qualifications: Supply-chain knowledge
