Working for Heinz means you will develop personally and professionally! Heinz North America seeking a Sr. Buyer for our Pittsburgh, PA location. This position is responsible to develop, optimize and implement strategic sourcing plans and national agreements based upon variable market conditions and demand within Heinz North America (HNA) and Heinz World Headquarter initiatives. Key responsibilities include: - Deliver purchase price deflation year over year through actively challenging vendor pricing, revising and standardizing specifications, initiating cost savings opportunities and implementing new negotiating strategies. - Develop and deliver sourcing plans for HNA indirect materials in conjunction with global procurement, e-sourcing and manufacturing strategies. - Analyze supply / demand fundamentals and develop strategies that deliver against the sourcing plan. - Represent HNA Procurement in meetings with various levels of management and contribute to process improvement strategies. - Continually review new processes and vendor base to ensure new supply opportunities exist. - Work closely with other business unit stakeholders to ensure the sourcing process is meeting their needs and financial objectives. - Coordinate the reporting of purchase and financial information on the indirect category to upper management. - Ensure conformance to specifications and quality parameters in conjunction with the business units. - Mentor fellow buyers in category experience, presentation and sourcing expertise - Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field - 5 years progressive responsibility in Indirect Procurement - C.P.M. Designation - 6 Sigma experience a plus - Strong negotiation /communication skills - Detail oriented - Strong computer and analysis skills; able to handle multiple projects at one time - Good people skills and a 'can do' attitude RESPOND HERE!
