Software Programmer

Astronomical Consultants & Equipment, Inc., has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and competent software programmer with the following skills: C, C++, Java, ASP, MFC and object oriented programming under both Linux and Windows environments.  Web-based programming involving complex databases and interfacing to existing C++ applications is required.  A flare for quality graphical interface designs and the ability to handle complex mathematical calculations (given the formulae) is prerequisite.  An interest in astronomy is desirable in order to understand the end-user requirements. 

 

Applicant must be able to produce solid, well documented code and work to a demanding schedule.  Successful candidate will have a proven background of substantial projects in which he/she has played a significant role, proving the ability to effectively develop software and to innovate and self-motivate.  Must be able to interact in a strong team environment in a small company (10+ employees).  Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
