Cooper Crouse-Hinds is seeking a Six Sigma/Lean MVP Engineer for our Syracuse NY location. SUMMARY OF POSITION: MVP (Manufacturing Variance Program) Engineer is accountable for supporting Cooper MVP continuous improvement initiatives which will result in process improvements and costs reductions. Provide training, expertise and direction for improvement activities to support the goals and objectives of the corporation. The MVP Engineer position requires a minimum of a 1 year commitment and selected candidates will be considered for potential promotion opportunities at the completion of the assignment. SPECIFIC & ESSENTIAL DUTIES: · Accountable for managing projects which will deliver a minimum of $300,000 in annual costs savings. · Lead, facilitate and execute projects using MVP principles and processes to deliver results · Responsible for deploying MVP principles and processes across Cooper Industries. · Works with MVP Champions, Project Managers, and Specialists to facilitate setting priorities, developing goals and designing objectives related to MVP. · Tie MVP projects to Corporate operating goals and objectives. · Train, coach, and challenge process owners in the use of statistical tools, approaches and techniques to create process management and measurement systems and develop an MVP mindset at the department or division level. · Assist MVP Champions, Project Managers and Specialists in identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve productivity throughout the business units. · Work with MVP Champions, MVP Projects Managers and MVP Director to ensure best practices are shared across the organization. · Oversee MVP Project Manager’s projects and responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: Good at determining the processes necessary to get things accomplished; knows how to organize people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow; knows what to measure and how to measure it; can see opportunities for synergy and integration; can simplify complex processes; and gets more out of fewer resources. · Excellent analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills. · Exemplary leadership and communication skills to effectively lead and facilitate MVP objectives and projects. · Must achieve $150,000 in cost savings within 6 months. · Completion of the 2 week MVP Apprentice training and able to complete the additional 3 weeks of MVP content expert training and receive certification. · Self-starter, able to lead cross-functional teams. · Must be willing to travel extensively. · Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in engineering. · 1-2 years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated process improvement experience Cooper Crouse-Hinds is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/D/V See aboveDivision/Department : Cooper Crouse-Hinds Travel Required : None Shift/Hours : First Shift (Day) LOCATION: Syracuse, ac 13210STATUS: Full Time, EmployeeJOB CATEGORY: Manufacturing/Production/OperationsWORK EXPERIENCE: 1+ to 2 YearsCAREER LEVEL: Experienced (Non-Manager)EDUCATION LEVEL:Bachelor's Degree REFERENCE CODE:530
