James Hardie is an Equal Opportunity Employer Shipping Supervisor Position Description:The Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for leading, coaching, training and disciplining a team of 8-10 employees within the shipping department. They will be responsible for ensuring that trucks and railcars are loaded accurately and safely while keeping truck delay down. They will be expected to work with the inventory control specialist to keep the warehouse organized and the inventory accuracy at 100%.Position Responsibilities Manages others by providing ongoing development, mentoring, and strong learning experiences. Meets the profitability and quality goals established for the plant. Support implementation of Warehouse Management System for the plant.Position Requirements Ability to LEAD. Ability to implement new policies and procedures that will reduce problems in the facility. Ability to analyze the data given to him/her Ability to recognize possible improvements in areas outside their field. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact, and draw valid conclusions. Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with all levels of plant employees and management personnel. Ability to coach, counsel, discipline and document performance appropriately in accordance with company guidelines while enlisting the input and support of plant management and Human Resources prior to initiating any disciplinary action Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent problem solving skillsEducation/Experience: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. 5-7 years of “hands on� experience in warehouse environment. Leadership experience.
