Shipping & Receving Supervisor

The position is responsible for managing and prioritizing the shipping of finished goods to meet sales and customer service requirements and for ensuring consistent receiving processes and quality controls are in place and followed   MAJOR AREAS OF PERFORMANCE:§         Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment. §          Hand on supervisor followings all systems and procedures to support the line. §         Performs all duties necessary to assure the availability of parts, materials and transportation needed to create an uninterrupted flow of materials to support production of parts. §         Studies work order and determines appropriate match of parts by size, type and material and locates and transports product and component parts to work station using fork lift. §         Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. §         Must have a “can do attitude� and be a self starter. §         Must have the ability to work extra hours when required. §         Must be flexible to change and the challenges with a rapidly growing organization. §         Manage outbound/inbound operations to ensure that products are correctly prepared, packed and labeled, meet customer requirements, and that inventory transactions are accurately recorded for stock and inventory control §         Direct staff to provide daily investigation and resolution for misdirected shipments §         Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for optimizing delivery/receiving and cost efficiencies §         Ensures scheduled commitments are met, on time and within budget §         Tracks and reports actual and anticipated metrics and issues within shipping/receiving department          Resolves priority and carrier issues with client service and logistics management §         Analyze productivity data to ensure the efficiency of receiving methods and make recommendations for improvement  when necessary §         Promote a safe working environment through adherence to OSHA and ISO regulations and company safety rules §         Support and maintain all corporate quality standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions as outlined in the company quality system documentation.  Ensure customer satisfaction by preventing the occurrences on non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems §         Ensures consistent shipping and receiving processes and quality controls are in place and followed §         Analyze productivity data to ensure efficiencies of receiving methods & make recommendations for change as appropriate          Manages assigned personnel,         Regular and punctual attendance §         Perform other duties and responsibilities as requiredDuties: Use of, forklifts to move material to/from warehouse areas.  Separating boxes, counting, verifying documentation matches shipments; receive material, maintain files and packing slips.  Utilize computer to enter material, resolve discrepancies.
