Shipping Manager

Laminate Works is a growing contract manufacturer of laminated panels and component parts for store fixture, casework, contract furniture, and office furniture manufacturers. We have an immediate full time opportunity for a Shipping Manager. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who is detail-oriented, possessing excellent communication skills and the ability to focus and thrive in a fast paced environment. The ability to multi-task, simultaneously managing a number of projects and employees is a must to succeed in this position.

Duties:

● Ensure that customer shipping requirements are met based on material release quantities.

● Audit and reconcile production and prepare materials for shipment

 

● Report to Logistics Manager daily on all issues concerning daily objectives.

 

● Provide Logistics Manager with necessary information and support in oversight of truck maintenance and operation and compliance with IFTA and DOT regulations.

 

● Supervises and coordinates the activities of  Packers, Forklift Driver, and Truck Drivers.

 

● Direct, train, and develop all subordinates with regards to their job functions and company policies

● Promote safety, quality, cost savings, training and other general processes

 

Knowledge/skills/experience:

● Minimum two years experience in a warehouse environment

● Must be able to operate forklift and pallet jack, warehouse tools and equipment

● Basic computer skills: Microsoft office, Word, Excel, Outlook

● Working knowledge of DOT regulations

● One year experience managing multiple reports in a warehouse environment

● CDL a plus
