Gerdau is seeking an accomplished Ship Crane Operator to join the team in Charlotte, NC.

 

Job Responsibilities



· Performs a variety of repetitive duties necessary to facilitate and coordinate the flow and identification of material through the rolling mill finishing department

· Safely performs a variety of auxiliary, supplemental and material handling duties, as assigned to service

· Assists with shearing, bending, coating, receiving, shipping, warehousing and plant maintenance operations

· Straightens, shears, stacks, and bundles product 

· Troubleshoots and repairs banding and or tying machinery

· Works through moderate to complex repetitive duties with accuracy, alertness and safety

· Acts as relief operator for all machinery in the finishing department

· Conducts material handling to ensure proper packing process

· Provides quick responses to alleviate material jams or equipment malfunctions

· Operates radio pendant crane and forklift

· Assists finishing crew completing changeover activities

· Utilizes CMOS system to enter metrics



Minimum Qualifications



· High School Diploma or GED

· Solid work history

· Three Years Manufacturing experience

· Ability to perform basic Mathematical functions such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication and decimals

· Detail Oriented

· Computer Literate

· Torch experience preferred

· Crane Operator experience

· Heavy Industrial Manufacturing experience preferred

· Three Years Manufacturing experience

· Ability to lift up to 70 LBS
