Shift Supervisor - Operations   At United States Steel Corporation, our strength is our people. Our 45,000 dedicated, diverse and innovative employees across the U.S. and in Europe contribute to our company in creative ways every day and have helped us maintain our position as a Fortune 500 company.    Our Tubular division in Houston, TX and Hughes Springs, TX has an immediate opening for a Shift Supervisor - Operations.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:     General Responsibilities:   This position will supervise a crew and oversee front line operations in the production of tubular products. In addition, the shift manager will enforce safety and environmental procedures and strive to meet quality, efficiency and cost objectives. Additional duties include troubleshooting production problems, documenting safety information and working with management team for process improvements.   · Administration of the U. S. Steel Tubular Products safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the operating facility. · Responsible for quality, environmental, productivity, continuous improvement, and management of up to 40 employees in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical discipline preferred; mechanical aptitude required. · 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment. · Basic computer skills required. · Ability to work effectively in an extremely fast-paced environment essential. · Shift work will be a part of this positions schedule and must be willing to work any shift as required. · Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills are also required.
