Lead on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasks3. Assist in the preparation of work estimates4. Commission and operate engines and propulsion systems 5. Instrument propulsion systems and record test data6. Inspect parts to assure conformance to specification7. Perform field inspections of failed parts and write reports to avoid future incidents8. Maintain engine, vessel and equipment log books9. Maintain detailed records of daily activities10. Request parts and tools to perform job functions11. Source local vendors required for field service12. Work with product groups on product design development13. Provide input for updates of service manuals and bulletins14. Instruct customers in safe engine operation, shutdown procedures and troubleshooting15. Provide technical assistance to other service personnel16. Remain technically current 17. Maintain a clean and safe work areaSupplemental: 1. Analyze technical data2. Perform special projects 1. Two year trade school or degree in engineering, technology or technical equivalent and two years field service experience; or five years field service experience2. Ability to travel 70-100% on short notice foreign and domestic3. Ability to operate machine shop equipment used for fabricating test parts and equipment4. Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb range5. Proficient in the operation and troubleshooting of engines, instrumentation and electronic engine controls6. Proficient in the use of mechanical and electrical hand tools7. Proficient in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems8. Proficient in technical language and engineering terminology9. Proficient in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumatics10. Proficient in the operation of internal combustion engines11. Proficient in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oils12. Good oral and written communication skills13. Good factory representation, customer service and interpersonal skills14. Good organizational skills15. Proficient with PC and MS Office SuitePreferred: 1. Experience with MTU engines and electronics2. Experience in a large engine service industry3. Experience in testing of diesel engine components4. Experience in operating fork lift trucks5.
