Senior Systems and Network Administrator

We are identifying and evaluating candidates for the position of Senior Systems and Network Administrator.  Intermatic relies on integrated and innovative technology solutions.  And, as the Company positions itself for a major transformation, Management recognizes the need to add additional IT talent to help support the organization's IT goals and objectives.  This positions reports to the Director of IS. 

The Senior Systems and Network Administrator helps and supports the development, implementation and maintenance of best practices to ensure a secure, reliable and available network.  Responsible for providing a timely response and diagnosis for trouble calls in the daily support of the systems network clients, and must be able to provide this support directly, remotely or over the phone.  This includes but is not limited to the management of the server farms and storage SANs, and ideally network equipment - routers, switches, hubs, public and private wired and wireless networks, etc. 

The ideal candidate will have: A Bachelor's degree in a computer related field involving software, hardware or networking along with 5+ years of professional experience. A strong working knowledge with Microsoft Operating Systems such as:  2000 Professional, XP Pro, Windows 2000/2003 Server (MCSE preferred) Capability to help follow and develop problem-solving scripts and/or guides. Dedication to documenting process, procedures, projects, and status is vital.  Capacity to recognize appropriate escalation time lines and methods when working individually on problems Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills Flexibility and ability to prioritize your individual workload, while working effectively in a team environment are also essential Individual should have majority for all of the following skills and/or certifications; Cisco 6509, Cisco PIX, and the 200 series - Experience with Juniper equipment is a plus Individual must be hands on and work well under pressure - Must be a strong team player Having experience in business continuity an redundancy designs and protocol is a plus Ability to work with technical specialists in providing expertise, training and management

Experience must include technical architecture planning, deployment, and troubleshooting and knowledge in the following is preferred:  Backup-Exec, Shavlik, WSUS, Symantec, VMware.  Individual must have extensive experience in LAN/WAN administration, network security and data disaster recovery methods.  VoIP and Wireless experience a plus.  Experience in help desk responsibilities that include end-user support.
