We are currently seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer for our Batesville, IN location. We offer an excellent compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including: competitive salary, 401K, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and tuition reimbursement.
JOB SUMMARY: This role will establish baseline controls for assigned suppliers. Participate in the Quality System Redesign Project. Establish a CIP process for assigned suppliers. Support Global Sourcing projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assess and develops Hill-Rom?s current and future supply baseDevelops and communicates HR expectations for quality performance, continuous improvement, quality systems, process controls infrastructure for high leverage/critical sustaining parts and new products sourced to contract manufacturers.Performs and coordinates supplier surveys and quality system and process control assessments.Measures and communicates supplier performance on key metrics and the corresponding continuous improvement plans.Participates as a active member in the New Product development process supplier evaluation team and the sourcing sore extended team.Collaborates, trains and mentors supplier representatives in best practices in quality systems, process controls methods, problem solving and statistical tools.Monitors and drives corrective action and continuous improvement activities that directly impact performance for assigned suppliers.Willingness and flexibility for business travel both domestically and abroad, when required.Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Bachelors of Science in Engineering or other related technical field.Five (5) to 10 years in manufacturing/quality assurance engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in supplier quality.Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, teaming and communication/interpersonal skills.Computer competency in Word, Excel, Power point and databases.Practical experience in metrology, test, inspection and analysis techniquesExperience in the medical device industry or automotive industry in development, as well as deployment of Quality System and process controls and continuous improvement methods (QSR?s, ISO9000 or QS9000).Primary/Secondary party compliance auditing experience.Works independently.Ability to multi-task and methodically manage projects.
