Senior Software Test Engineer
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's products and the market's requirements to be able to develop realistic test cases. - Work with the team to understand the system requirements. - Participate in the testing activities of the team. - Create level of effort (LOE) and duration estimates for own assigned work and review the LOEs of other test engineers. - Perform test runs as well as validate issues found during testing. - Develop appropriate test strategies, test plans and scripts, and related documentation. - Participate in the effort to identify systems and modules that can have their testing automated. Design and execute test automation scripts. - Assist in the creation of a test strategy and test plan for load testing. - Ensure awareness of changes and requests for changes to all released applications across product lines. - Participate in requirements, test plan, design and code reviews as well as user acceptance testing. - Communicate complex technical concepts effectively and in terms that can be understood by all parties involved. - Communicate status of work to supervisor. - Adhere to defect tracking processes. - Undertake data analysis and validation activities. - Participate in process improvement activities. - B.S. in Computer Science, Business, or related major or equivalent business experience. - 5+ years of related systems testing experience. - Demonstrated proficiency in software testing concepts. - Solid understanding of standard business concepts and functions. - Ability to work independently. - Ability to write and execute SQL and Visual Basic. - Excellent interpersonal communication skills including listening, and oral and written presentation of ideas. - Risk analysis, problem analysis, and problem solving skills. Ability to identify root causes of problems and differentiate between perceived and actual problems. - Demonstrated experience working in a team environment. - Solid understanding of complete SDLC methodologies.
