Senior Product Development Engineer

Sr. Product Development Engineer   ACCO Brands Corporation, one of the world's largest suppliers of branded office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, is currently seeking a Sr, Product Development Engineer to join the New Product Development & Engineering team within the Visual Communications Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This position must excel in working with cross-functional teams to support the design and development of new product concepts while building the Quartet brand through design excellence and innovation. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker who can provide technical support and guidance in regards to design, engineering and manufacturing techniques. Must be self-driven and posses strong Project Management skills.  This position reports to the Group Engineering Manager, and will be responsible for the following:   Responsibilities: - Assist with technical evaluation/brainstorming of new product concepts with focus on design integrity and manufacturability while keeping associated costs aligned. - Develop detail drawings and component specifications via 3-D solid modeling (SolidWorks) for functional performance of new products or revisions to existing products as needed. - Prototype and testing validation of product design, material specifications and manufacturability. - Support Project Management with monitoring/trouble-shooting implementation of new products through production and product launch. - Provide detail assembly and component drawings for Document Control. - Support Project Management with detail Bills of Materials specifications. - Provide technical assistance to Quality to assure established standards are met or exceeded. - Investigate new materials, technologies and innovations which can drive growth of the Quartet brand. - Work with internal and external designers and test agencies to ensure design intent and quality standards are not compromised. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent technical experience  7 or more years experience required; 10+ preferred Experience in Plastic Injection Molding and Extrusion Experience with 3D modeling required; SolidWorks preferred Experience with manufacturing required; overseas manufacturing a plus Tooling Knowledge Sheet metal experience preferred Must be willing to travel occasionally or as needed ACCO Brands Corporation markets products in over 100 countries across the globe through our own sales force and distribution networks.
