Senior Planner / Buyer / Scheduler

Belcan is currently looking for:

Senior Planner / Buyer / Scheduler

Assures material availability using a combination of Kan Ban visual systems, MRP and other planning tools.  Purchases, plans, schedules and expedites materials, finished parts, finished products and services to support on time delivery to customers.  Ensures good customer service and accomplishment of department objectives.

*Initiates and approves purchase orders for assigned commodities by reviewing daily MRP data and/or requisitions, reviewing Kan Ban replenishment needs, and reviewing other material requirements data as necessary

*Executes buying and planning standard work practices that ensure achievement of planned inventory levels and turns, or better.

*Meet targeted inventory goals and Excess and Obsolete (E&O) reductions.

*Plans and schedules operations to achieve optimum on time delivery and zero past due orders.

*Supports and drives conversion of MRP and/or work order based planning to Kan Ban and other Visual Factory/Lean planning systems.

*Revises, changes, or cancels purchase orders as required.

*Work with strategic procurement on new items to select new vendors and service providers.

*Obtains and keeps current all supplier pricing, delivery and lead time information.

*Ensures maintenance and accuracy of all planning data in the system.

*Resolves price and/or quantity discrepancy issues on supplier invoices

*Supports Customer Service by providing assistance in determining customer promise dates for quotes and orders.

*Ensures scheduled deliveries of assigned commodities.

*Updates standard cost of the commodities as required.

*Develops and maintains a good relationship with all suppliers

* Maintains, follows, and supports Lean Manufacturing and OpEx practices

*Provides new quotes and replies to Sales Department requests.

* Maintains integrity of all planning reports via reliable current scheduled dates.

*Improves reschedule orders when necessary and advises Sales of changes.

*Expedites parts as needed.

*Requests drawings and other documentation as required.

*Coordinates priorities with other teams.

*Recognizes and responds to short-range capacity constraints.

*Reviews workload and priorities with Value Stream Leaders as required.

*Interfaces with Customer Service, Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering on critical orders and quotes.

*Performs other duties as assigned.

*Excellent PC skills (especially MS Excel).

*Excellent planning and scheduling skills.

*Excellent organizational skills.

*Good verbal and written communication skills.

*Excellent telephone skills.

*Associates degree required with Bachelors degree in Business, Procurement or related degree preferred

*Minimum 4 years experience in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
